They shall pass, you birdie - A political history of birds

Andreia Farinha e a Truta no Buraco

I have lived the theatre through the most polluted and erratic meanderings, always on the edges of institutionality.
After finishing my degree at ESTC, I completed my education, as an artist and as a vertebrate, serving liqueurs or mojitos in the less famous establishments of the capital.
I did some plays of my own, on the fringes of paid odd jobs, with the people who were sympathetic to this fortuitous way of producing theatre.
A sort of gang was formed, made up of an indigent species of culture. It went in, consolidating a style and a team.
In recent years, we have been thinking socially about life and culture, awakened to the clairvoyance that our condition demands it. A solitude does not privilege us. We believe that artistic practice should not be self contemplative, it should rather produce perspectives, curiosity, bridges.
Without having been blessed many times by the benefits of cultural patronage, we do not have any ballooning or epic names made in the official circles of the so-called artistic endeavours. Shelter however, the conviction that this group is genuinely committed to producing critical thinking about the world through a more accessible and less appealing and mushy politically work. And so, quixotically, we have been honing our skills in the intricacies of the arts to which, for spite of our sins, we have decided to dedicate ourselves.
